Mapping architectural

Our Lady of the Guard

The day before the Assumption 2014 brought together many Marseillais on Place Colonel Edon to admire an open-air architectural spectacle in honor of the 800th anniversary of Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde. On the program: a gigantic video mapping projected on the facade of the basilica and a sound and light animation for the delight of the Phocaeans.

Nicknamed the Good Mother, the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde basilica is an emblematic figure of the city of Marseille. Thanks to its architectural beauty and its location overlooking the southern capital, the basilica dating from the 19th century constitutes the most visited monument in the Phocaean city.

The organizers of the event to mark the 800th anniversary of the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde basilica called on Studio Énorme to produce an architectural show covering the history of the emblematic monument of the city of Marseille, from its creation in 1214 in our time. The video mapping animation coupled with the natural beauty of the places allowed thousands of spectators eager for magical moments to relive 800 years of emotions.
